JOIN THE COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY SECTOR PANEL

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Community Planning Partnership are seeking expressions of interest from local Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprise Organisations across the Borough to apply for membership of the Community and Voluntary Sector Panel (the Panel).

The Community and Voluntary Sector Panel was established in 2018 with a broad membership of over 55 members.  The purpose of the Panel is to ensure that the voice of the Community and Voluntary Sector is heard in the Community Planning process across the Borough, and that they play an active and full part in shaping, delivering and reviewing the Connected Community Plan. Connected: A Community Plan for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough 2017-2030 is the first community plan for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough.  The plan was published in March 2017 and it aims to improve the social, economic and environmental well-being of the borough.  You can look at the Community Plan on the Council’s website here.  You can read about the progress towards achieving the outcomes in the Community Plan here.

We really hope you will join the Panel.  Some existing members of the Panel have put together their thoughts on what the Panel does, why its work is important, why they are members of the Panel, and why it would be great to get new people from across the Borough to join here

The Panel has put together an Expression of Interest Form that tells you a bit about the membership and recruitment process.

What happens next

Recruitment is by completion of an Expression of Interest form. The selection process will be undertaken by the Community Planning Team on behalf of the panel steering group and will review the applications with a view to inviting new members onto the Panel.  It is anticipated that invitations to join the Panel will be sent out by the end of July 2024.  Feedback will be given to everyone whose form does not fully meet the criteria, and an opportunity will be provided to resubmit where appropriate.
