Take£500 - Your Choice PB - Stage 2 Voting for Projects

Closed 1 Dec 2020

Opened 24 Nov 2020

Results expected 4 Dec 2020

Overview

Welcome to stage two – the video and voting stage of the Tak£500 your community, your voice, your choice Participatory Budgeting (PB) process.

PB offers a real opportunity to empower local people and actively involve them in decision making and the distribution of support within their local areas.  Over the last number of weeks groups have been busy generating ideas and coming up with projects that will benefit the community.  They have been creating videos that best showcase their idea, now it is over to you the local residents to decide which projects receive the £500 funding.

The Tak£500 working group invites local people aged 8+ from Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough to vote for their preferred ideas - the ones they think would make the biggest difference to them and the community.  Voters should watch each of the 2 min videos within their District Electoral Area (DEA) to help them decide on which projects they want to support.

To vote you will need an email address and a postcode.

Online Voting will open on Tuesday 24 November at 2pm and will close on Tuesday 1st December at midnight.

Ideas are based around the ‘Take 5 Ways of Wellbeing’. The five simple steps that help maintain and improve your wellbeing on a daily basis They are:

  1. Connect with people around you
  2. Be Active in some way each day
  3. Take Notice of the world around you and how you are feeling
  4. Keep Learning by trying something new
  5. Give by doing something nice for someone else

Successful projects have until 31 March 2021 to deliver the project and are required to attend a community celebration event to be held in April/May 2021 where they will deliver a two minute presentation on what their project delivered and how it has benefitted their community. Attendance at the celebration event is a condition of the funding. Note: this celebration event is dependent on the COVID-19 situation and alternative arrangements will be put in place if necessary.
