Urban Centre Identities – Implementation
Overview
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has engaged with a number of key stakeholders within our six urban centres to develop and create a suite of new identities for each of our urban centres namely, Armagh City, Banbridge, Craigavon, Dromore, Lurgan and Portadown.
The development of each urban centre identity has helped to define what is unique, charming and welcoming about each place. The aspiration of these identities will be to support and promote each urban centre and position itself whilst creating a positive impact on civic pride and in the longer term achieve greater returns on marketing investment.
Following feedback received during a public consultation and focus group meetings, a new concept has been developed for each of our urban centres. A public survey took place in August 2020 which helped to inform the design on a suite of urban centre identities that celebrates the uniqueness and differentation of our city and urban centres. Co-ordinated focus groups have been ongoing from May 2020 to present.
The details and urban centre concepts can be found, downloaded and viewed from the “Related” documents section at the bottom of this page.
(We recommend using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Firefox browsers to view the concepts)
Why your views matter
The next stage in this project is implementation of the urban centre identities across the Borough. We are keen to hear your views and explore options for the implementation of each identity in the urban centres.
The survey questions which follow, will give you the opportunity to input and choose options for the identity implementation.
What happens next
Following public feedback and focus group consultations, Council will engage with key stakeholders to agree a short and long-term implementation plan for each urban centre.
Please note:- Implementation actions will be subject to the availability of budget and resources.
