Waringstown Public Realm Consultation - Concept

Overview

As part of the ongoing commitment to urban regeneration, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council are continuing to plan for the future development of Waringstown Public Realm Scheme, providing high quality improvements within the settlement.

The theme of the design is based on the Weaving History of Waringstown and the layout of the feature elements within are based on the weaving spindles and the threads of material running between the spindles. The paving surrounding these feature elements would be natural stone which would generally be the paving material used within this focus area.

This ‘hub’ area would also feature new street tree planting, new lighting, new seating provision and revitalised planting beds.

A raised table is proposed at the junction location between Main Street, Banbridge Road and Mill Hill to alleviate some of the traffic problems.

This questionnaire is your opportunity to comment on the concept design proposals. Your views will play an important part in the preparation of the final design for the area.

The Waringstown Public Realm Scheme has been subjected to an Equality Screening exercise, refer to the Equality Screening Policy Document under related documents, a Rural Needs Impact Assessment was also completed, refer to the rural needs impact assessment under related documents.

The outcome of this screening exercise indicates no adverse impacts on Equality of Opportunity or Good Relations under the Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. On this basis, the decision is that the policy should not be subject to a full equality impact assessment.

This consultation will be live from 04 December 2020 - 04 January 2021.
