Overview

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council is working with Outdoor Recreation NI and Forest Service NI to develop an Adventure Play Trail at Gosford Forest Park. We have now developed designs and we want to hear your views.

The designs showcase 5 iconic play structures linked by a 2km woodland play trail. The play structures have been designed to offer inclusivity and challenge for all age groups and abilities.

Why your views matter

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council are consulting to help inform final design proposals for the Adventure Play Trail, prior to work commencing on site in Summer 2019.

We want the Play Trail to have:

  • Identity – a place that celebrates natural habitats, local context, heritage and culture.
  • Comfort and Safety – high quality that’s practical, safe and sustainable.
  • Connectivity – well linked with the surrounding amenities.
  • Flexibility – a place that can be used throughout the year with educational activities and animation.

Council is committed to its equality and good relations duties as set out under section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 and the Rural Need Act 2016 and as part of this consultation we would like to ensure that you/your organisation has every opportunity to express its view.

What happens next

All survey results will be analysed and used by Council to help develop final design plans for the Adventure Play Trail.
