Overview

Are you a local social enterprise, community or voluntary group?  If yes, then we would love to hear from you.

Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Community Planning Partnership is calling on individuals who are active within the community, voluntary and social enterprise sector to join the ABC Community and Voluntary Sector Panel.

The current panel has 46 members from across the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough and are already playing a valuable role connecting many varied and diverse voices to local public services and decision making bodies. 

 

The role and purpose of the panel is to:

  • Ensure the Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprise Sectors are represented
  • Promote ongoing community engagement
  • Articulate the voice of the community and voluntary sector
  • Support the development of cross-sectoral relationships and improved partnership working

 

The Chair of the panel is Geraldine Lawless, P2000(Portadown2000) and the Vice Chair position is held by Gilbert Lee, Banbridge Twinning.

The panel formalises the sectors role within the community planning governance.  The panel have participated in a good practice study visit, in a collaborative way the panel hosted two very successful events that have brought the whole sector together.  Most recently they have engaged on a research project to better understand the level of support provided by sector, the panel undertook a Food Assistance survey across the borough in June to learn about the sector’s response to the Covid-19 crisis and to inform the work of the panel over the next 12 months.

Membership is by expression of interest and is open to any interested individual who is active in the local community, voluntary and social enterprise sector within the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough to apply.

  • Information on Community Planning
  • Role and purpose of Community and Voluntary Sector Panel
  • Membership and recruitment process

To register your interest to join the Community and Voluntary Sector Panel you need to:

  1. Complete the expression of interest form electronically by following the link below.
  2. Please ensure to complete all sections of the Expression of Interest form
  3. Complete an Equal Opportunities Monitoring form
  4. Provide the additional documentation that is requested.
  5. Submit the electronic form on or before midnight on  31st August 2020.
