Tandragee Public Realm consultation - revised concept drawings
Overview
Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon Borough Council is proposing to submit a planning application for improvements to the public realm in Tandragee. These proposals have been developed by the Council, as part of their commitment to delivering regeneration and economic development throughout the Borough.
After careful consideration of the feedback council received from a previous consultation exercise 4 Dec 2020 to 11 Jan 2021, designs have been revised. Once again council would like to gather views from stakeholders in relation to the updated designs. This consultation will take place online due to the current Government restrictions on public assembly.
The concept design proposed at Mill Street/ Markethill Road.
The proposals look to develop this under used space to create a Gateway Feature and Community Space for Tandragee.
The plans for this area have been revised to reflect a more traditional and quaint public space with traditional cast iron street furniture. The current trees will be retained, planting revitalised and additional planting introduced.
There are two designs to consider for the Mill Street/ Markethill Road area
- Option 1 - Contains a Pillar Clock in the larger space and a tree in the smaller space
- Option 2 - Contains a Pillar Clock in the smaller space and the larger space is left open for flexible use.
The concept design proposed for The Mall on Church Street.
This proposal will look at improving the safety of pedestrians using The Mall and revitalise this important area of Church Street. New steel railings are proposed in a heritage style with specific designs that draw on the past and present history of Tandragee.
