Closes 9 Dec 2022

Introduction

Council are asking residents from the Cross Heights and Lizzise areas to consider options for Play Park provision provided in the local area.

Cross Heights has been designated a Local Play Park at a cost of £75,000; however, Council are now asking residents to consider options for the provision of Play Parks in this local area.

The options for residents to consider are:

1. Build a Local Play Park (on the exsiting site) in Cross Heights at a cost of £75,000.

Or

2.  Close the exsisting Play Park in Cross Heights and build a larger District Play Park at a estimated cost of £250,000 based at Rathfriland Community Centre.

To aid you with your decision we have provided example drawings below of Play Park designs:

1.  An example drawing of what a Local Play Park design might look like and potential equipment that could be provided for the £75,000 budget.

2.  A example drawing of what a District Play Park design and potential equipment that could be provided for the estimated £250,000 budget, at Rathfriland Community Centre.

**This is to give residents an idea of what a Play Park design/equipment lay out may look like; however, these are only example designs

Residents will be consulted on the design and equipment that can be provided once the survey has closed.

Please note:

Communities in Cross Heights and Lizzise would both have to agree to the closure of their Local Play Park in order for the District Play Park to be provided at Rathfriland Community Centre, subject to Council approval.

Only people living in the areas 600m around the Play Park can respond to the survey and only one response per household will be accepted.
